Mrs. Jodi Sheffield » Biography

Biography

Mrs. Sheffield began her St. Rita teaching ministry in 1999 as sixth through eighth grade science teacher with a sixth grade homeroom. Her position transitioned to teaching 7th through 8th science with a 8th grade homeroom as St. Rita expanded. She has served as Middle School Coordinator since 2013. Her SRS roles have included sponsoring National Junior Honor Society, St. Rita Outreach, XSTREAM Lady Spartans, and many other student organizations. She is an advisor for The Spartan staff (yearbook) and serves as a member of the Faculty Advisory Board. Mrs. Sheffield has served on Diocesan committees focused on science textbook selection and curriculum. As an enthusiastic Spartan, she has coached volleyball and varsity softball. Go Lady Spartans! Texan to heart, Mrs. Sheffield graduated from University of Texas Medical Branch with a B.S in Clinical Laboratory Science. She later earned her M.S. in Health Science Instruction from Texas Woman’s University. She is a member of the National Science Teacher Association and Science Teachers Association of Texas. She is also director of Junior DECATS Dallas (Debusk Enrichment Center For Academically Talented Scholars) which provides summer enrichment for Gifted and Talented students from our Diocesan schools.


Mrs.Sheffield’s favorite pastime is spending “JoJo” time with her four grandchildren - Elise, Tyler, Colton and Ryder.
