Welcome to 4th Grade!

I am very excited to be your teacher and very blessed to serve at St. Rita again this year.

After a ten-year career in the banking industry, I followed my heart and became a teacher. I have been blessed to teach for over eighteen years. I spent 9 years teaching third grade in McKinney ISD where I had the opportunity to serve as a team leader and offer an inclusive classroom setting co-teaching with our lead of special education. We never stop learning and growing, but I gained so much from this experience. I have also learned so much from my students and colleagues at St. Rita while teaching both self-contained 4th-grade classes and departmentalized Language Arts. I have truly loved my teaching journey.

My family means the world to me. We reside near St. Rita Catholic School and have called St. Rita our church home since 2010. My husband Jon and I have one son who is a graduate of Jesuit (2018) and a very goofy golden retriever named Auggie. I am blessed that our families reside in the area.

This year we will learn so many amazing new things. We will learn all about good reading and writing habits, how we can monitor our own comprehension, writing structures, how writers use descriptive words to help readers visualize, and how to annotate text. We will read about a selfish rabbit that learns how to love, an amazing kid named Auggie, and the true story of Salva Dat who overcame many obstacles in his life.
