I am so blessed to join St. Rita as part of the Student Success Center team, and I am excited to be a part of this wonderful school!
For the past two years I have worked as the Academic Intervention Specialist/Counselor at St. Elizabeth of Hungary and Santa Clara de Assisi schools, implementing differentiated curriculum and behavior intervention strategies to facilitate student success and support teachers and parents. I have also worked the past four years in private practice, specializing in behavioral health and childhood learning challenges. I have Master’s degrees in Sociology and in Counseling and my teaching certification areas are Special Education, ESL, and ELAR. I am also working to complete my CALT certification in Dyslexia instruction. I am a licensed counselor in Texas (LPC) and a certified case manager, and I look forward to synthesizing my experience to support the amazing teaching team and to create a growth mindset learning environment that empowers all my students to learn and achieve.
I am married with two grown sons, one daughter-in-law, and one amazing grandson (hopefully a future Spartan!). My Jesuit grad will be marrying his longtime Ursuline grad girlfriend this December and I will gain a new daughter-in-law! I live here in North Dallas and enjoy spending my free time with my family and my three energetic dogs. I enjoy reading and traveling, and in addition to teaching I have a lifelong passion for learning and seem to always have myself enrolled in one class or another!
I am grateful for the opportunity to teach as part of the St. Rita community. I look forward to getting to know all the students and making this a fantastic school year!
