Hi. I am Monica Luisi. I was born and raised in Panama City, FL. I graduated from Loyola
University in New Orleans with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1983. I taught for two years in Gretna,
LA before marrying and moving to Dallas. My husband, Gerard Luisi, is a graduate of St. Rita and Jesuit. I
taught for seven years at Mary Immaculate. I took a break from teaching to begin our family. I returned to
teaching as the first grade aide. This is my 23rd year teaching 1st grade at St. Rita.
I have three children; James, Briana and Grant. James is a graduate of Loyola in Chicago and worked as a
lobbyist for NETWORK in Washington for a year. He spent a year in the Jesuit Alumni Program and
graduated from Boston College with a Master of Divinity. James, who married in March of 2019, is teaching
as a campus minister at Ignatius High School in Cleveland. After spending her 1st year at Loyola in
New Orleans and a semester at UTD, Briana is a graduate of UT. She lived and worked in Austin for Dell after
graduating, but moved back to Dallas where she is currently working for Gartner. Finally, Grant is a
graduate of Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. He lived and worked for Enterprise in Mobile, AL after
graduating. He got married November, 2018 and now lives in Loxley, AL where he works for Firemon.
All three attended St. Rita for K-8th grades and then Jesuit or Ursuline. We believe in Catholic Schools!
