My name is Lisa and I am the Family Engagement Coordinator for St. Rita. I am excited about the transition to this new position in my 20th year at St. Rita. I have previously served as the Director of Guidance as well as school counselor. I am happy to say both of my kids are young adults who benefited from the support and guidance they received here at St. Rita before going to Jesuit and Ursuline and then off to college and the real world. My son is a gainfully employed adult, and my daughter has just finished her degree from Texas Tech and will be soon also joining the ranks of the independent adults of society :).
I have a Masters of Science in Social Work as well as a Masters of Science in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience, and am licensed as a clinical social worker. In addition, I am a registered yoga teacher and certified mindfulness teacher. Family engagement is nothing new at St. Rita, even though this is a new role for our school. We have the best community and are so thankful for all of our families. This year as we come back from our COVID world into a more normal experience for students, staff and families, we are renewing our commitment to a more complete partnership.
Look for opportunities to meet with school leaders, parent and family education, and ways for families to work together to enhance their experiences. See some of our events here:
In addition, feel free to explore my virtual office below, or I have put together a virtual calming corner for families to use with their kids when they may need to take a brain break. Students and families may access here:
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Email is the best way to contact me - firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember, We Are St. Rita!
