Welcome to the Counselor's Corner! My name is Lisa and I am the Director of Guidance as well as the middle school counselor for St. Rita. I have been at St. Rita for almost two decades and both of my children graduated from here. I am happy to say both of my kids are young adults who benefited from the support and guidance they received here at St. Rita before going to Jesuit and Ursuline and then off to college and the real world. My son is a gainfully employed adult, and my daughter just started her senior year at Texas Tech.
I have a Masters of Science in Social Work as well as a Masters of Science in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience, and am licensed as a clinical social worker. In addition, I am a registered yoga teacher and certified mindfulness teacher. I work with students, teachers and parents to help all students manage their social and emotional well-being as well as academic potential.
I know that even with most of our student back on campus, there are concerns about managing the wellness and emotional health of our children in light of the global pandemic. I will continue to update the resource page on the sidebar with information that may help.
In addition, feel free to explore my virtual office below, or I have put together a virtual calming corner for kids to use while they are learning from home, or even over the summer when they may need to take a brain break. Students and families may access here:
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about your child, please let me know. Email is the best way to contact me - email@example.com
Remember, We Are St. Rita!
