Mrs. Bartel

Mrs. Bartel is excited to be teaching at St. Rita for another year.  Her 7th-grade math students are in for an exciting year of expressions and equations and making geometric connections with algebra concepts as they transition to high school mathematics. The students will incorporate technology in the classroom with Desmos online calculators, IXL and ALEKS, and will make meaningful memories with their quarterly math projects.  A tough course is ahead, but the rewards of preparation will be great.

After receiving her B.A. in Mathematics at Loyola University New Orleans in 1999, Mrs. Bartel began her career teaching in New Orleans at Mount Carmel Academy.  After conquering the Crescent City, she moved to the Big D and taught at Highland Park High School.  While there, she earned her M.A.T in Mathematics Education from UTD, married her true love, and started a family.  After staying home for a few years, she returned to teaching at Schreiber Methodist Preschool and found a home at St. Rita in 2015.  Mrs. Bartel has been transforming students into mathematicians for over 20 years and looks forward to many more.

Mrs. Bartel has two children, Kate and Nicholas.  Nicholas is a St. Rita Spartan and Kate is an SRS graduate.  Kate is pursuing her passion for acting at Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts.  Mrs. Bartel's family enjoys being part of the neighborhood and the St. Rita Catholic Community.  She can often be found walking the neighborhood with her husband, Nick, and sweet Labrador, Baudelaire.  Her hobbies include board gaming, crossword puzzling, crafting, and mathing.  Above all she enjoys relaxing with her family.
