The role of the instructional support team is to help teachers identify students who might be struggling academically or socially. The team’s objective is to aid the teachers in discovering the best ways and techniques for meeting the needs of all students. The instructional support team may help an individual student or a small group of students on an as needed basis but does not teach any specific classes. They will monitor student progress and meet with teachers, parents, and other team members to suggest a strategic plan and any appropriate screenings or tests that may be necessary. When a diagnosis is given and accommodations are recommended, instructional support will facilitate the appropriate accommodations.
