Join us for an evening that will begin with a 30-minute Town Hall with our principal, Dr. Walsh, followed by a one-hour presentation that will qualify as your annual SAFE Environment renewal requirement. The guest speaker is Dianna Smoot, a St. Rita alumna, and the Director of Community Education at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, whose mission is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. Her talk is entitled “Keeping Your Children Safe in the Real and Virtual World.”

This training is designed to educate parents and community members on child safety and child abuse prevention. We will talk about the realities of child abuse and empower parents with the language and tools to talk to their children about personal safety, both in the real and virtual worlds. Since the majority of abuse cases are committed by a direct family member or person familiar to the child, the presentation will ensure you know how to have more than just a “stranger danger” conversation with your children before it’s too late. Parents will leave the presentation with a better sense of how to talk to their children—no matter their age-- in a way that is comfortable and appropriate. Dianna's experience and advice will have a critical impact on your children’s safety.

* Light refreshments will be served by the Parents Club.

*Free childcare is available on-site, but please RSVP for childcare by Friday April 20 to:Christina Soderberg, [email protected], or call/text at: 972-898-8905.
