Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Cara Hicks, and I am thrilled to be your child's teacher! I am looking forward to meeting you soon and welcoming you into our classroom. In our classroom, I like to create an environment that ignites a love of learning, provides opportunities for problem-solving, and supports social-emotional development. Kindergarten is a very exciting year as we grow spiritually and academically. We will explore and learn together through hands-on and exciting adventures.
This is my 16th year teaching. My past experience includes Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade, and I was also a reading and math specialist. I have taught in both public and private schools. I joined the St. Rita faculty six years ago but have been a part of the community for the past 12 years.
One fun fact about my family is that everyone’s name begins with the letter C. My husband, Cash, and I have two amazing sons. My oldest son, Corbin, is a senior at Jesuit, and my youngest son, Colin, is in 6th grade here at St. Rita. When I am not teaching or creating new things for our classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, attending my children's extracurricular events, traveling, and reading.
I am excited to have you here at St. Rita! It is truly an honor and a blessing to get to help guide your child through their Kindergarten year. I feel so lucky to not only help your child make leaps and bounds academically, but I also get to lead them as they grow their relationship with Jesus and strengthen their prayer life.
We are going to have an amazing year!
Blessed,
~Mrs. Cara Hicks
