Mrs. Erin Pacione
I am so excited to begin my 6th year at St. Rita! I am looking forward to a wonderful year. I will be teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies this year.
First -- let's talk about how to pronounce my name. It is an Italian last name. Don't get to tricky with the vowels. It only has three syllables:
1, puh (like the first syllable in the word "puppy")
2. cho (long o)
3. knee (like your knee on your leg).
Second -- my important information. I grew up in Richardson, Texas. I attended school in the Richardson Independent School District – Mohawk Elementary, Richardson North Junior High and J.J. Pearce High School. I am married to David Pacione (22 years this October). We have three children, Lilly (a sophomore at LSU), Nicky (a freshman at Texas A&M -- Whoop!) and Matthew (4th grade here at St. Rita). My family lives in North Dallas with our dog, Marley. I love to read, watch Aggie football, and navigate the waters of being a mother to two in college.
I graduated with honors from Texas A&M University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in French with a minor in history. Following student teaching at Richardson High School, I attended the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University and graduated in 1997. I worked as a litigation defense attorney for eight years in the Dallas area before leaving law practice in 2005. I am currently an inactive member of the State Bar of Texas. I am certified by the state of Texas to teach grades 6-12 for the following subjects: History (World History, US History, Texas History); subjects covered by the Social Studies Composite Certification: Economics, Geography, Government, Sociology, and Psychology; and French.
Prior to coming to St. Rita in 2016, I taught at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School in Richardson for 9 years. I have also served as a teacher at Senior DECATS for the past fifteen years. I co-teach the mock trial major at DECATS.
I will be primarily using Google Classroom for all communication with my students. All assignments and class materials will be posted each day. I will also post homework assignments on Renweb.
Please contact me with any questions that you may have as we proceed through this year. My email address is epacione@strita.net. I am also available to meet by appointment and am also happy to schedule telephone conferences at a mutually convenient time.
