Meet Mrs. Henderson
There are two words that describe me best as a teacher—passion and compassion. I have a passion for teaching, and compassion for the kids. I love what I am doing!
I am beginning my 26th year of teaching. I am an AGGIE — Class of 1991. I graduated with a BS in Curriculum and Instruction. I graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Masters of Liberal Arts degree in 1997.
I taught grades 4, 6, 7, and 8 at St. Paul the Apostle School from 1992-2000. During these years, I was a charter member for Senior DECATS (Debusk Enrichment Center for the Academically Talented). After eight years at St. Paul the Apostle, I was employed as an adjunct faculty member for Texas A&M at Commerce and Richland Community College. I returned in 2006 to third grade, where I spent eleven years! For the last two years, I taught fifth and sixth-grade Advanced Academics Language Arts here at St. Rita. I also directed and produced our SRTV News. This year, I am thrilled to begin my third year at St. Rita by teaching the eighth-grade Advanced Academics Language Arts Class and acting as the Curriculum Coordinator.
I love reading, creating lessons, and spending time with my family. I am married to Joe Henderson. We have two children, Johnny, who attends Texas A&M as a sophomore this year and Maggie, who attends Bishop Lynch High School as a junior. We live in Richardson and spend many hours supporting the Bishop Lynch Brigade Drill Team and traveling to College Station. I am looking forward to a great year at St. Rita.
