Bio

My name is Mrs. Sara Bierschenk, and I am so excited to be teaching Music at St. Rita! Some of you may recognize me from the parish as the Seraphim Choir Director last year. (Join CHOIR!!!) I am a Dallas girl, born and raised! I attended St. Thomas Aquinas from kindergarten through 8th grade. I graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. I received my Bachelor of Music and Teacher's Certification at The University of Texas in Arlington in 2014. I have enjoyed a wide range of teaching experiences, having taught choir and general music in public and Catholic schools in Dallas and private piano and voice lessons. Outside of teaching, I love singing in the church choir as well as performing for events though out the metroplex. I enjoy reading and crafting in my spare time. I am married to my wonderful husband, David, and we have a Yorkie mix named Clio.

As a cradle Catholic, I love being active in the Church and, in particular, sharing the beauty of our faith through music. One of my favorite quotes is from composer J.S. Bach, "I play the notes as they are written, but it is God who makes the music."
